Who else loves illustrated books?

Books are not just about the words. Books should be objects of beauty and function, delightful to look at, easy to read, pleasant to touch, long-lasting objects with content that transcends a lifetime.

One of the great joys of book design and authorship is their illustration. That might be the cover (critical to tempt readers and buyers), or images throughout the book: photographs, drawings, collages – any kind of medium used to enhance the words.

So have a look at these illustrated books published in 2015 – which do you love? Which would put you off buying? It’s such a personal choice, no right or wrong – but I’d love to know if I share your preferences…
